Our neighborhood guide.
This is our personal neighborhood guide. Not a generic list: these are the places we recommend to our guests, tested over years.
Casa Pitic is walking-first in a drive-first city. Hermosillo is walkable, but between June and September the heat can limit walking distances. All places in this guide are within 10 minutes' drive from Casa Pitic.
This guide also serves you if you're attending ExpoGan, Fiestas del Pitic or the Serie del Caribe.
Key distances from Casa Pitic
Hermosillo Climate
Hermosillo has a desert climate with four well-defined seasons. If you're coming from elsewhere, this changes your walking plans:
October to March (recommended): ideal weather, 15-28°C / 60-82°F daytime, cool nights. Walking works perfectly. The full neighborhood guide is enjoyable on foot.
April and May (transition): heat ramps up, 25-35°C / 77-95°F. Walk before 11am or after 6pm.
June to September (extreme heat): 35-45°C / 95-113°F daytime, doesn't drop below 28°C / 82°F at night. Walking is only viable at night or very early. We recommend renting a car for this season.
Casa Pitic has air conditioning in every bedroom. If you're visiting in summer, keep windows closed during the day and run A/C continuously — we cover this in the welcome guide.
Arriving from the Airport (HMO)
